Our founders are two mental health nurses, and that clinical experience runs through everything we do. We provide compassionate, person-centred home care across Stoke-on-Trent – from everyday personal care to specialist support for people living with mental health conditions or dementia. Personal care
At Helpful Hearts we support every aspect of your personal care while helping you keep as much independence as possible – washing, dressing, bathing, grooming, continence support, mobility, preparing nutritious meals, and safe help with medication so it is taken correctly and on time. Our carers are respectful, discreet and conscientious at every visit.
Mental Health Support
Drawing on our founders' mental health nursing background, we provide understanding, consistent support for people whose needs go beyond everyday care. We help people manage daily life at home with reassurance, routine and a genuinely person-centred approach – supporting both our clients and the people who love them.
Dementia & Memory Support
Patient, familiar care for people living with dementia or memory loss. We focus on routine, reassurance and keeping day-to-day life as calm and normal as possible – helping people stay comfortable and safe at home, and giving families real peace of mind.

What makes Helpful Hearts different?
We were founded and are led by two experienced mental health nurses, so we are especially well suited to supporting people living with mental health conditions, dementia and other complex needs – as well as everyday personal care and companionship.
What types of care do you provide?
Visiting care, live-in care, 24-hour and overnight care – including personal care, medication support, dementia and mental health support, companionship and help around the home, tailored through an individual care plan.
Are your carers trained and DBS-checked?
Yes. Every carer is enhanced DBS-checked and reference-checked before they start, and receives a thorough induction and ongoing training, so you can have complete confidence in their care.
Will my relative see the same carers?
Wherever possible we keep a small, consistent team around each person, so they see familiar faces and can build a trusting relationship.
How quickly can care start?
After a free, no-obligation assessment, we aim to start your care as soon as we possibly can, depending on your needs.
Do you help with funding?
We support private (self-funded) care, Direct Payments from a local authority or the NHS, and contracted local authority and NHS care. We are happy to explain the options.
